POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts
What types of e-mail accounts are out there? Which type should you choose when you set up your e-mail program?
In case you’ve got a domain and a web hosting account for it, you will be able to create email accounts for personal or commercial purposes and to set them up with email programs such as Outlook, Apple Mail or Thunderbird. During the process, you will be able to pick one of the two most popular email protocols – IMAP or POP3. The first one will permit you to see all email messages, but they will remain on the mail server, while with the second protocol, all messages will be downloaded onto the device where the email account is set up, unless you specifically select a copy to be saved on the server. In this way, you can choose if you want all your email communication to be stored on a single device, or if you would rather be able to see the email messages from various places. The second option is pretty handy for businesses where different people working on separate computers need to get access to a certain mailbox.
POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Shared Hosting
Each shared hosting plan that we offer will permit you to create mailboxes with any domain name hosted in your account and to set them up on any device. During the setup procedure, you can pick between the POP3 and the IMAP email retrieval protocols, as we offer support for both, so you can decide which one to rely on depending on your preferences and the purpose of the account – you may choose to download all emails in case you have a personal account and to leave the emails on the email server – in case you have a business account, for example. The Email Manager, which is built into our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel, enables you to download and run a small auto-configuration file, so as to set up an email account with an email software program – Apple Mail, Outlook or Thunderbird. You can even use your phone to examine your emails and we have an elaborate tutorial on how to carry out this on an iPhone or an Android phone.
